Your one-stop shop for complete bulk handling packages
When you choose Portasilo, you won't need to deal with any other supplier to complete your bulk storage and handling systems. Our services cover everything from design and project management, all civil engineering and equipment manufacturing to mechanical installations, wiring, control equipment and commissioning.
To ensure every project meets the highest quality standards and complies with all legislation, Portasilo designs silos to the latest Eurocodes using Ansys finite element analysis software. Structural design is carried out using state-of-the-art STAAD 3 software, 2D and 3D AutoCad, StruCad and Inventor software.
Our dedicated engineers manage every project from initial consultation through to final installation and commissioning. They oversee all aspects of engineering, manufacturing, risk assessment, quality and installation, backed by highly skilled specialists in mechanical, I&C, process, structural and civil engineering. We work to CDM Regulations, acting as Principal Contractor when required. All work is carried out in line with our ISO 9001 accreditation, ensuring that every project meets agreed specifications, programme times and price.
Our comprehensive civil engineering service includes everything from providing base loading and bolt setting-out details to full design and construction. We perform ground investigation surveys and deliver interpretative reports before designing the required foundations, from piled or raft foundations to traditional pads. Our designs cover all of the main elements required on industrial sites, including ground slabs, weighbridge support slabs, concrete pavements, retaining walls and surface-water drainage.
Our full range of silos, dischargers and conveying equipment is manufactured in three dedicated workshops spanning more than 3,000m². Here we manufacture shop-built silos up to five metres in diameter to meet individual customer requirements. We also have the skills and resources to construct silos up to 15 metres in diameter in sections, ready for delivery and final assembly on site (site-built silos). Stainless steel products are manufactured in a dedicated workshop to ensure the highest quality of finish for food and pharmaceutical applications.
Portasilo is committed to providing an exceptional service in all areas of installation. Our installation team comprises highly trained engineers, all with CITB passports. A dedicated foreman is allocated to each installation to ensure all programme duties are fulfilled. Specialists are appointed for lifting operations, slinger banksman duties and welding. We adhere to the strictest safety standards on site, delivering an efficient installation, programmed to cause minimal disruption to your operations. Furthermore, we subscribe to the National Britannia Group Safe Contractor scheme assuring you of industry best practice standards in risk management, health and safety and environment management.
We offer a range of control systems, from small relay-based systems to full SCADA control packages. Our in-house electrical engineers will work as part of the project team to ensure precise and accurate control of your process design. The electrical installation of the system can be incorporated into your complete turn-key package, giving you a single point of contact for all of your electrical, control and instrumentation requirements.
Our team of mechanical, electrical, control and software engineers will ensure that your new installation performs at optimum levels. We will work closely with your operators, technicians and engineers to ensure that everyone has a full working knowledge of the plant and equipment. Our engineers can also help you to update your existing plant and equipment, ensuring it continues to meet the requirements of your business.
